Some tips from us and some of our couples that may be helpful.
Having the same people setup and take down makes removal faster.
Lots of helpers during setup is nice but keep in mind small children and pets don't help much.
Tulle fabric sticks to wood. (Good thing for arbor, not so great for dress).
Email a timeline/setup requirements or print one off to make sure everything you desire gets done.
Have a go to person. Someone to ask when last minute issues arise and also during your event, so you can enjoy your day!
Keep a clear path to all fire extinguishers, stairs and exits.
Have someone appointed to arrive early on your wedding day to greet guests.
Stilettos look great but may not be a good choice on grass or wooden floors.
Please bring lots of water (before, during and after your wedding), especially in the summer. We have a large container you're welcome to use for bottled water, juice etc.
We provide two jugs with drinking water, please bring extra water to refill the jugs as there is no drinkable water in the barn.
If you plan on having your pet in the wedding, please make sure we know ahead of time and they are up to date with vaccinations, clean up after them and keep them in the ceremony area only.
No glass. All drinks should be served in plastic or paper cups with the exception of wine/water glasses and tea cups during dinner and dessert. All glassware should be cleared following the dinner and dessert.
Please let us know if your preferred caterer has not catered at Windgate before and ask them to contact us if they have any questions or would like a site tour. Please make sure they know ahead of time there is no flames in the barn, no exceptions. There are four 8' tables for them to use and a regular sized fridge (located behind the bar).
You may require additional portables if you have a lot of people helping you setup, have over 100 guests, or have an open or toonie bar.
If you move it, put it back. If you use it, return it in the same condition. If you break it, you bought it.
If you are leaving food overnight, please store in the fridge or in airtight containers to keep uninvited guests away.
